IS THERE A LONG TERM CONTRACT?
NO you are not tied down to a long term contract we are month to month. The signed engagement letter outlines the services you are paying for and the fees to be collected based on what we've agreed upon. I only request a 30 day written notice to terminate my services. Your books will be completed for that month and a final set of financials will be sent to you completing our agreement.
What is virtual/cloud based bookkeeping?
All of your accounting software, documents, receipts and files are stored in one place known as the "cloud". This allows you, and approved users including myself to access your books conveniently at any time any place and the biggest advantage is that your books are conveniently backed-up, not having to worry about losing anything if your computer goes down.
Cloud based bookkeeping software and applications help streamline your business or personal finances. All you need is an internet connection a computer/tablet/smart phone and you have immediate access to your books.
DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO MY BANK ACCOUNT?
As part of the setup process, we connect your bank to the accounting software in the cloud. The Bank simply sends the transaction information (called a "bank feed") and the software picks it up. The transactions automatically enter into the software allowing me to categorize and reconcile the information downloaded. This does not give me access to your bank accounts, I am not able to transfer money or do anything to your actual bank account.
Is working in the cloud safe ?
You may not realize it but you are already working in the cloud. Anytime you use online banking or buy something over the internet you are already in the cloud.
Both Quickbooks Online and Xero use bank-level encryption to keep your data safe.
What happens if you find a discrepancy in a transaction in the bank account, credit card or savings account ?
If there is a question regarding a transaction you will receive an email from me in regards to the transaction. You can simply address the question via email or through the accounting software online. Each customer prefers different methods, sometimes it's easier to take a screen shot to address the issue. We decide your best method.
Do I prepare Taxes?
I do not prepare taxes but your books will be ready for your Tax Professional or Accountant for review. Part of the additional services I offer is to be in contact with them if needed to discuss any details that may apply to setting up your financials or specifics related to your Chart of Accounts.
How do I get paid?
Monthly payments to Beyond Borders Bookkeeping, LLC by Credit Card (sent via online invoice) or check payments are accepted.
If I have the desktop version of QuickBooks can I change over to the online version?
Yes, you can definitely change over to the desktop version there are backups and data transfers that have to take place.
